Even though the mortgage holiday is an option if you’re struggling with your mortgage payments, but don’t abuse it, thinking it’s mortgage freedom. There’s a reason the government, FCA, and experts are advising borrowers to resume payments where they can, even if they don’t make the full monthly payments, because it’s in their best interest to do so.
Every mortgage payment you put off now is accruing more interests, and that part of the capital and the interest will still have to be repaid in some way in the future. Think about the future repayments, and the additional interests accrued before deciding to go for mortgage holidays. Only take it if you really need it.
